I just finished watching the new show on Netflix. Thirteen reasons why.
Thirteen Reasons Why is based on the book written by Jay Asher. The story follows a teenager Clay Jensen. As he returns home from school he finds a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers a group of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker his former classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier. On the tape, Hannah unfolds an emotional diary, detailing the thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, Thirteen Reasons Why weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect viewers. Why I decided to write about this is because, bullying is a major issue going on in this world today especially in young teens. This show gives a huge message that I believe a lot of people need to hear. It is very detailed and can be very emotional at times but I think it gives a clear idea on what is going on in schools now a day. I encourage people to watch this show. Not only to help people who are struggling but give people who don’t see the signs of someone who is dealing with depression because if you know the signs are there you could get those people help and potentially save someone’s life.
